On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will pass through Summit County. Having considered the expressed warnings and safety concerns, the Akron Municipal Court has determined that the best course of action is to restrict access to the courthouse on Monday, April 8, 2024.

The Akron Municipal Court will be open for Arraignment Court only during the morning of Monday, April 8, 2024. The courthouse will re-open on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 as regularly scheduled.

Those with hearings planned in other courtrooms on April 8, 2024 will be notified about rescheduling.
