PUBLIC NOTICE FOR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT, ATTORNEYS AND ADDITIONAL JUSTICE PARTNERS:
AKRON MUNICIPAL COURT ADJUSTS SCHEDULE AS A NEW CASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IS LAUNCHED
Akron, Ohio, August 27, 2025 – The Akron Municipal Court and the Akron Municipal Clerk of Courts will launch a new electronic case management system (CMS) on Friday, September 5, 2025. Implementing this new system requires a complete shutdown of the CMS from Sunday, August 31, 2025 through Thursday, September 4, 2025. This will cause all cases to be processed manually.
To assist with the proper and efficient functioning of operating during this time, the Akron Municipal Court is asking that no new traffic summons, traffic arraignments or criminal summons be issued with court appearances scheduled for the week beginning September 1, 2025. Please notify your colleagues regarding this request.
Traffic Court arraignments and walk-in opportunities will not be held from Tuesday, September 2, 2025 through Friday, September 5, 2025. In Traffic Court, only cases scheduled for trial in Traffic Court will go forward. Traffic Court will reschedule arraignments that were set during this time. This change only applies to cases scheduled in Traffic Court.
For interested parties and/or attorneys with cases scheduled in all other courtrooms, please reach out to the assigned courtroom advance to confirm that the case is moving forward as scheduled. Contact information for various departments and courtrooms can be found here: https://akronmunicipalcourt.org/contact/department-directory/
The Court wishes to advise court users that the modernized CMS will significantly improve our operations, but there will be an adjustment period in the beginning.
Please note that the Akron Municipal Court will be closed on Monday, September 1, 2025 in observance of Labor Day. The Akron Municipal Court will resume full operations on Monday, September 8, 2025.
We appreciate your patience during this transition. Those with general questions may contact Akron Municipal Court at (330) 375-2120 or court@akronohio.gov.
